Hello and thank you for taking a moment to review Coler Hanson Therapy Professionals. My name is Emily Coler Hanson. I am a fully licensed mental health therapist in Fargo, ND. I am a near life-long resident of Fargo, having grown up on the north side and graduating from NDSU for both my undergrad and graduate degrees. To help you decide if I’d be a good fit as your therapist, let me tell you a little bit more about my therapy background and experience…

My style of therapy is very strength and solutions based, which means I work to develop real world coping skills to help you deal with life’s challenges. I want these skills to be very accessible and easily transferrable from the office into your daily life.

Having worked with children and adolescents for over 13 years, my main area of expertise is child therapy. I have several years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum (including initial child autism screenings & testing), kids who’ve experience trauma or abuse, as well as those dealing with mood disorders or family concerns. While I work primarily with children and adolescents, I also work side-by-side with their parents and guardians to ensure the progress we make inside the office carries over into their everyday lives.

My goal-oriented style of therapy is also an ideal choice for individuals, couples and families working through significant relationship concerns. I provide professional relational therapy services that include (but not limited to) couples therapy, pre-marital counseling, marriage counseling, and LGBT affirmative therapy. We can work on an individual basis, or we can include your partner or family members to work toward healthy resolutions together.
